The internationally renowned linguist Rita Franceschini is the head of the "Competence Center Languages" and holds the chair for General Linguistics at the Free University of Bolzano, Italy. Her academic interest is primarily in minority languages as well as neurolinguistics and the mental representation of multilingualism. In addition, as part of her teaching activities at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, she is engaged in research into language varieties, multilingualism of language minorities, and multilingualism didactics. Her numerous publications in these fields, her editing activities in various renowned linguistic journals and her countless research stays abroad make her the perfect holder of the second Michael Clyne Research Professorship and we look forward to welcoming her in Munich.
