Spiegelungen magazine is published by our cooperating-partner; the Institute for German Culture and History of Southeast Europe at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (IKGS), A new Spiegelungen volume is published every six months.

About “Concept of the collective”:

Because of the German “ethnic groups” outside of isolated German-speaking areas in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, linguists researchers have assigned different names to the regional collectives. The authors of volume 2.20 of Spiegelungen first looked at an analysis of the digital language data of the different groups to determine conceptual histories. Using the example of the “Buchenland Germans”, the “Bessarabian Germans”, the “Galicia Germans”, and the “Carpathian Germans”, collective concepts were then examined in relation to the Germans in Southeastern Europe.
